FORGET apples or antibacterial hand gel, because five cups of tea a day are the latest way to keep the doctor at bay.
The Dutch health council claims that three to five cups of tea per day can protect you from strokes, diabetes and high blood pressure.
But the tea must be green or black, as herbal teas and the rooibos variety do not count.
“Other studies agree that daily tea consumption in this range are likely to have a positive impact on heart health,” said Tim Bond, a member of the Tea Advisory Panel.
