LEADING environmental groups are appealing to Spain’s political parties to rethink the so-called sun tax.
The levy on solar power was introduced by the government in October and hits people with installations larger than 10kw generating their own electricity at home.
But Friends of the Earth, Ecologists in Action, Greenpeace, SEO/BirdLife and WWF want a vice-presidency of sustainability set up following December’s general election.
A tax on the sun. What next? A tax on the air we breathe? On sex? On going to the toilet?
