SPAIN has won top prize at the annual blind wine tasting competition.
The Spaniards topped a group of 20 teams, securing 140 points at the event in the French town of Chateauneuf-du-Pape.
Teams blind-tasted 12 worldwide wines, identifying country of origin, grape and vintage in the contest, which is organised by monthly magazine La Revue Du Vin.
Team member Jose Luis Aragunde said he had been tasting wines for 12 years and identified the key to success as a wine-taster
“If you get on well with your partner, you notice you get better very quickly,” he said.
