Argentina striker Messi and his father Jorge are accused of defrauding Spanish authorities out of more than €4 million .

The allegations centre on image rights earned by the player between 2007 and 2009.

Messi argued he did not have any say in his tax affairs at the time.

“There are rational signs that the criminality was committed by both accused parties,” said the judge.

No date has yet been set for the trial.
