A pet is rescued every five minutes in Spain

dogSPAIN’S animal lovers saved a creature every five minutes last year.

Over 140,000 cats and dogs were scooped up by animal sanctuaries, according to the Affinity Foundation Study, which claims abandonment is Spain’s biggest pet problem.

“The reality is far harsher and surely it is at least 30% higher,” said Maria Costuya from the National Association of Animal Friends (ANAA).
