Rwandan spy wanted in Spain for war crimes is arrested in the UK

A RWANDAN spy wanted by Spanish authorities has been picked up in the UK.

Intelligence chief Karenzi Karake has been arrested at London’s Heathrow Airport, at Spain’s request.

Karake, 54, is being retained on a European Arrest Warrant issued by the Spanish authorities.

He is wanted in connection to war crimes against civilians dating back to Rwandan genocide in the 1990s.

Spanish high court judge, Fernando Andreu, issued the European arrest warrant in 2008.
