EXPATS hold the balance of power in many town halls around Spain, as the country goes to the local polls today.

In certain Costa del Sol towns, such as Benahavis, Manilva and Mijas, nearly 50% of the voters are foreign.

While the PP and PSOE are expected to largely maintain their control on town halls around Andalucia, both anti-corruption parties Podemos and Ciudadanos are expected to get hundreds of councillors into power.

In Madrid and Barcelona, Podemos could even take control, if exit polls are correct.
