ASTONISHING statistics have revealed that Spanish unemployment fell twice as fast as expected in April.
The plunge of 118,923 far surpasses the predicted drop of 65,000 and confirms that the hiring season has begun.
The government confirmed it is the best figure ever recorded in April, and brings the number of people leaving joblessness over the last year up to 351,285.
There are still more than four million unemployed people in Spain (20% of the population) but the figures suggest a marked recovery with a GDP rise of almost 1% in the first quarter of 2015.
More temp jobs for the summer, not long-term jobs and careers.
“best ever figure for April”. Says it all really – the tide has definitely turned. Great news.
