Spain produces almost half of its energy from renewables

wind-energy-SpainSPAIN’S green banner is flying high with news that the country sourced 47% of its energy from renewables in March.

Zero-emissions technologies are on the up, with a further 23.8% coming from nuclear power, while wind has provided the almost a quarter of Spain’s electricity generation this year so far.

Spain is a green energy leader, the first country in the world to rely on wind as its top energy source for an entire year.

It plans to use wind power to supply 40% of electricity by 2020.
