Social media to boost recruitment for Spanish convents

nun e

SPANISH convents are making use of social media to recruit nuns due to numbers of women joining religious orders dropping from 6,500 in 1966 to just 250 today.nun

Modernised marketing methods can be seen on the colourful webside buscoalgomas.com – literally translated as ‘I’m seeking something more’ – as well as on Facebook.

The pioneer is Noemi Saiz who, after trying out life as a nun, decided she was better suited to helping archaic religious institutions get their heads around marketing for the younger generation.
