HEAD of the Junta, Susana Diaz, has confirmed that regional elections will go ahead on March 22.

Diaz announced the decision to bring forward the polls by a year, complaining that her leftist coalition was unstable.

The regional vote will add to an already busy political calendar, with local elections planned for May and general elections set to take place at the end of the year.
