Gurtel case prosecutor requests 111 years for Correa and 42 for Barcenas

THE prosecutor of the Gurtel case has requested that Francisco Correa receive 111 years and four months of prison and 42 years for Luis Barcenas.

About 800 years of prison have been requested for a total of 41 defendants involved in the case.

The Gurtel scandal has rocked the ruling PP government, with several top officials arrested.

It was a huge scheme involving illegal party donations or kickbacks from a ring of businessmen seeking lucrative contracts and indulging in luxurious personal expenses.
