Criminal gang smashed by Spanish National Police after attempted robbery on luxury home

A CRIMINAL gang of 17 men has been smashed by  the National Police following the attempted robbery of a luxury home in Velez-Malaga.

The gang – composed of members of two different criminal groups who believed they would make around €20 million from the raid – had been tailed by police before the arrests.

The ringleader, a Spanish national of Colombian origin, fed the gang key information of the home’s layout, security systems, and the owners movements.

Five men were arrested in Velez-Malaga, six in Antequera, five in Torremolinos, and one other in Madrid.

Police seized four vehicles, €1535, foreign currency and high-tech equipment used for criminal activities.
