Mijas delegation travels to Tokyo to promote town as prime travel destination

AN influx of Japanese tourists could be on their way to Mijas when town delegates return from a trip to Tokyo to promote the area.

The tourism delegation will meet tour operators and travel agents at the JATA International Tourism Fair to talk up their town as a prime travel destination.

During the fair, councillor Santiago Martin will showcase exhibitions from Mijas’ Centre for Contemporary Art to demonstrate the cultural heritage the Andalucian town has to offer.

The week-long fair starts on September 22 and is regarded as the biggest of its kind in Asia.
