SPANISH drivers are notorious for their road rage.
But new statistics suggest that just 2.8% would pass a driving theory test if they took it now.
The National Confederation of Driving Schools discovered that 21% of Spanish drivers with at least 21 years experience on the roads would answer fewer than 22 questions correctly.
The most correct answers were given for road safety questions, while the most incorrect answers were for road rules questions.
The survey revealed that separated and divorced people scored higher than married people, but there was no difference between men and women.
Murcia was the lowest scoring region.
The Spanish turn into completely different people when they get in a car. A few weeks back a lunatic driver was accelerating madly in a busy car park, and when I told him to slow down he went berserk, giving the finger and all the other anti-extranjero stuff that we have come to expect when a Spaniard is criticised. I stood in front of the car and told him that pedestrians have the right of way and that the limit is 5 kph whilst pointing to the sign stating this. He revved the engine, and when I walked on and out of the way he pulled off so fast he smashed into another car a few seconds later. The police were seen taking him away at that point and I waved to him as I passed. Don’t drive in Spain in August is my advice, it must be the Sun lol.
Only in august?.
I’ll say all the year !
We are bad drivers. The thing that most worries me is that, in the highways , nobody seems capable of maintain the distance of security with the vehicle that is circulating in front.
