Apple recalls certain European iPhone power adapters

OVERHEATINGS in Apple’s 5W European USB power adapters have prompted the company to issue a safety risk.

The adapter – shipped to various countries across Europe from October 2009 to September 2012 – was included in iPhone 3GS, 4, and 4S models and was also sold as a stand-alone accessory.

Apple is offering an exchange of these products for a redesigned model at their stores, free of charge.
