British golfers targeted in ‘date-rape’ drug robbery in Fuengirola

TWO British golfers have been drugged and robbed in Fuengirola.

Keith Low believes he and a fellow golfer from the Glen Gorse Golf Club in Oadby, Leicestershire, were spiked with the notorious ‘date-rape’ drug Rohypnol.

Neither can remember anything after accepting a free shot in a bar during a night out.

Mr Low, 59, woke up in a side-street, missing his gold chain and cash from his wallet.

Police explained that they were most likely drugged with Rohypnol and then led away from the group and robbed.

The UK Foreign Office warns tourists on Costa del Sol to be vigilant, advising that drinks be kept in sight at all times to make sure they are not tampered with.

  1. Ah, the cafe culture, the gourmet experience of eating raw chicken with rohypnol chasers, followed by a cabaret of mugging. That’s if you make it past the car-jackers on the way from the airport. Bliss.

  2. Benalmadena, Fuengirola, Torremolinos.. costa resorts.. all crazy in July/Aug, but great the rest of the year, if you know where to go.

It’s not how UKIP Stefanjo puts it here. I wonder how many drink tampering incidents like this happen in uk places.

The usuals on here lamely exaggerate Spain for the worse.

    IT’S JUST NOT LIKE THAT.

Fred you’re a disgrace as normal. It’s like you’re working for some anti-Spanish tourist board on this website whilst living in their country. You take all the good things that Spain has to offer, then spit out your vitriol in return.

  3. Derek is right as the coast is just terrible in August and most of July, the rest of the year can be very nice as long as you don’t own a business and then it’s hard 12 months a year
