THE 120 African migrants and 47 Algerian nationals had attempted to enter the country by boat, before they were intercepted by coastguards off the shores of Almería, Murcia, Ceuta and Tenerife.
The small crafts were packed full of Algerian and African nationals, having been on the high seas for several days.
Conditions were so dreadful aboard the five boats that many occupants needed urgent medical attention.
Coastguards were forced to rescue eight Algerian males, after they leapt from the boat and started to swim into La Azohía in the Cartagena-Mar Menor.
