WILDMAN Thin Lizzy guitarist Gary Moore left none of his £2million estate to his devoted partner – because he did not draw up a will.
The rocker died from a heart attack in February 2011 aged 58 after an alcohol binge at the Kempinski Hotel near Estepona.
Moore and girlfriend Petra Nioduschewski, 37, had just arrived in Spain, checking into the hotel earlier that day. An autopsy put the guitarist at five times over the drink-drive limit with 380mg of alcohol per 100ml of blood in his system – the legal limit for driving is 80mg of alcohol.
Miss Nioduschewski, who lived with the musician at his £635,000 home in Hove, tried unsuccessfully to revive him.
Although Moore was reported to have proposed to her, she will receive none of his estate as he had not drawn up a will. Under intestate rules, it is believed his fortune will be split between his four children.
Moore was a regular visitor to Estepona, and frequently jammed with the in-house musicians at the now closed Las Dunas Hotel.
obviously the children of Mr MOORE will give her some money surely ….
Wild Man! What sort of reporting is this, Gary was one of the few musicians who were never implicated in drug abuse, or alcohol abuse. One single UK measure is enough to put you over the limit, in Spain a normal measure is about twice that, so Garry’s binge consisted of between 2 and 4 drinks! Shame on you for such shoddy work and disparaging the reputation of one of the finest musicians of his generation. The man died of a heart attack, not liver disease or an overdose. Disgusting reporting.
Mark. He had struggled with alcohol for many years, and you are way out on your calculations. That BAC indicated a lot more than a bottle of spirits in a fairly short time. They started at lunchtime with champagne and brandies.
Surely his money should go to his children first, no? Otherwise, just don’t have children…
Chris – My husband is leaving no money to any of his children. They are greedy and lazy just waiting for him to die so they can spend his hard earned cash, with no thoughts to earning their own. In the 15 years I’ve known him, he’s never so much as received a birthday card. But he gets plenty of begging letters. Not all kids are deserving of their inherited wealth.
Pandora. And the “other woman” is speaking I guess…
And must be a brilliant father if none of his kids really want to speak to him…no comment…
Saw him several times over several decades, the last being a brilliant solo performance at the Cordoba Guitar Festival a few years ago. He was an amazing player, and a great song-writer, and will be sadly missed.
King of the strat ! Its just sad.
