TENNIS ace Rafa Nadal has pulled out of the London Olympics 2012 due to injury.
“I am not in condition to compete. It was not meant to be, ” he said, adding that it was one of the saddest moments of his career.
Nadal, 26, won the men’s singles at the Beijing Olympics in 2008 and had been set to bear the flag for Team Spain at this year’s opening ceremony on July 27.
The world number three pulled out of a charity match in Madrid on July 4 due to a tendon issue in his left knee.
His last match was at Wimbledon 2012 on June 28, where he was knocked out of the second round by then world number 100, Lukas Rosol, in one of the most unexpected results in tennis history.
