estepona beach

A FRENCHMAN has drowned on the Costa del Sol after attempting to save a child who had got into difficulty.

The 42-year-old was dragged out to sea by the current after going to the aid of the young surfer, who was struggling to get out of the water at El Padron beach in Estepona.

Emergency services managed to revive the child and rescue another adult from the sea, but attempts to revive the Frenchman were unsuccessful.
