Gibraltar hoping to score with UEFA

GIBRALTAR’S bid to become a member of football governing body UEFA will be decided in 2013.

An application put forward by football authorities on the Rock was discussed during a recent meeting of delegates in Istanbul.

Current members will be asked to vote on Gibraltar’s admission as a full member of UEFA at a congress to be held next year, something which is likely to meet opposition from Spain.
