“Marbella Beach will score where other reality shows fail,” said a source.
“It will have sun, sea and lots of sexy action with bikini babes and hunks in trunks.”
Marbella Beach is the brainchild of Big Brother 2007 winner Brian Belo, who is currently locked in a legal battle with TOWIE’s production company, Lime Pictures – who he claims nicked his idea.
Belo, from Basildon in Essex, says he originally pitched to TV producers a show called Totally Essex, with the same format as The Only Way Is Essex – otherwise known as TOWIE.
His original taster clip even featured the then-unknown Essex characters Mark Wright and Amy Childs.
He is now seeking 4.8 million euros in compensation – although ITV and Lime Pictures say Belo’s claim is ‘totally without foundation and will be vigorously defended’.
Belo’s new Marbella venture, which he pitched to TV bosses last year, is rumoured to be starring a Miss Great Britain, a former Big Brother star, an Essex model, a disgraced Korean stem-cell researcher and a professional David Beckham lookalike Andy Harmer.
It comes just weeks after TV bosses confirmed a Marbella special for TOWIE, to be filmed this summer.
