HE’S travelled all over the world championing the best ingredients and producers, but now English celebrity chef Rick Stein has turned his attention to Spain.
The restauranteur has just launched a new book Rick Stein’s Spain, along with accompanying television series, highlighting some of the best authentic food and places to eat.
The culinary guide includes a stop off in Andalucia, in which he enthuses about tapas bars including El Rinconcillo and Antigua Abaceria de San Lorenzo in Sevilla and Casa Bigote in Cadiz.
The television series started on BBC Two last Thursday.
Stein has not just turned his attention to Spain. He’s visited it many times and has done TV programs before, eg on the seafood of Galicia and the O Grove Marisco festival in October
Is there any information on Villa La Era where the cooking sequences were filmed?? I think it is located at Casarabonela where Rick said his “secret valley” was at. That would be a place to visit!
Have to love Rick. His shows are great and he visited the Campo De Criptana vineyards, the area where my old man is from so that was ace.
I really like how hes shows are a in between of documentary of the country he is in and then he cooks the local dishes. Searching the web I found that the Villa where most of the dishes where cooked and filmed is offering cookery courses. If anyone is interested here is the link.
