Spanish grandmothers are the new stay at home mums

A THIRD of Spanish grandmothers have taken over the childcare duties during the week.

According to a new Ministry of Health report this has become a vital contribution to the economy, worth up to one per cent of Spain’s GDP total.

In the UK, grandparents provide 33 billion euros of free childcare every year.
