John Lennon’s Strawberry Fields finca to become a museum

A RUINED Almeria farmhouse where John Lennon was inspired to pen the Beatles hit Strawberry Fields Forever has been transformed into a cinema museum.

The property – where Lennon once stayed for a holiday – now pays homage to the famous film-making that went on in the area in the 1960s and 1970s.

During that time Hollywood producers flocked to the province for its rugged countryside and perfect weather.

The area, in particular, became famous for its spaghetti westerns and a series of hit films such as The Good, the Bad and the Ugly were shot nearby. Lawrence of Arabia was also filmed here.

A string of film stars such as Clint Eastwood and Peter O’Toole also famously stayed at Casa Santa Isabel as it was then known.

Now, after a six million euro investment from a local Beatles fan, the property has been brought back to life as the Casa del Cine.
