A LOTTERY winner who settled in Spain has returned to Britain, penniless.
Lawrence Cavendish, a factory worker from Gateshead, bought a house and an Irish pub in Benidorm after he won £5million in 1997.
He also splashed out on homes for his mother and his sister in the Spanish resort.
But the local bank was forced to seize everything following a string of unpaid debts.
Cavendish is now back living in the UK, reportedly so poor he even had to borrow taxi fare to get to the airport home.
I think the caption covers it. Probably bled dry by “friends”, relatives and professional advisors.
