Granny, drop the kids! It’s the national strike

GRANDPARENTS are being asked not to look after their grandchildren on the day of the General Strike.

According to union leader Manuel Pastrana, of the UGT, grandparents are “a fundamental part of the working of the country”.

He wants the unemployed and pensioners to take an active part in the protest against the proposed labour reforms across the country.

Only 15 per cent of the country is actually expected to join the strike on September 29.

However, after strong calls by the trade unions, the strike may affect certain international flights and public transport.
