Spain’s shrinking cities

URGENT plans have been unveiled to stem the populations of Cadiz and Granada from falling further.

Out of Andalucia’s biggest cities, they are the only two officially home to shrinking populations.

Granada officials have implemented measures to make it easier for young adults to rent homes and stay in the city.

However, Cadiz chiefs – more cynical of the national statistics – have instead urged all residents to ensure they are officially registered.
