Football president sacked over child porn charges

THE president of the Almeria Football Federation has been fired after he was charged for having child pornography on his computer.

Nicolas Ucles – president for 26 years – was arrested in the early hours of Thursday morning after an investigation by the Andalucia Football Federation (FAF) uncovered the photos.

“Reports indicate he had more than 4,000 files of adult pornography and some explicit images of children on his hard drive.”

Suspicions were raised after they were alerted by heavy download traffic on one of the association’s computers – which was then linked to Ucles’ computer through his IP address.

The former FAF president, 58, has denied any involvement in a paedophile trafficking network.

However, reports indicate he had more than 4,000 files of adult pornography and some explicit images of children on his hard drive.

Last week, the FAF strongly condemned any action that would “infringe the rights of minors” and it has subsequently named Jose Martin Doblado as Ucles’ successor.
