Riverbank to be reclaimed

TWO stretches of riverbank are set to be reclaimed under a project by the regional water authority.

The first scheme sees land alongside the River Fuengirola being brought into the public domain in an attempt to boost the conservation and protection of the area.

The project plans to reclaim land stretching seven kilometres inland, with hundreds of properties expected to lose land.

Homeowners with objections to the Agencia Andaluza del Agua’s project now have the opportunity to vent any concerns surrounding the plans.

Another 2.2 kilometre stretch of land is also being reclaimed for the river running between Arroyo Real and Villa de los Estibos, in Mijas.
