A WOMAN who sold her eight-month-old grandson to a childless married couple has been sentenced to six months in prison.
A court in Motril heard how the un-named woman gave the baby to the couple on the forecourt of an Almuñecar petrol station in 2002 for an undisclosed sum of money.
According to reports, social services discovered what had happened after receiving an anonymous phone call.
At the time of the investigation, the police were told the baby was sold to “give it a better life.”
The baby’s aunt was also sentenced to six months behind bars.
