PICTURE SPECIAL: Gibraltar power station blaze

THE blaze at Gibraltar’s main power station is extinguished and power is gradually being restored to the Rock.

It is believed it started when there a was malfunction on one of the generator sets and a fuel line burst.

Nearby residents were advised to close their windows and stay indoors while the emergency services tackled the Easter Sunday incident.

It is reported that there were no injuries.

Olive Press readers were on hand to record these dramatic images from the fire.
